This is the beginning of the Arctic watershed, from here all waters flow to James Bay. All waters south of this lake flow southwards to Lake
Superior.
Kabinakagami Lake's water level is high in the spring and low in the fall; water levels drop about five to six feet during the summer. This means the lake has a natural cleansing action which cleans the many spawning areas and sandy beaches. This cleansing process makes the lake very productive; therefore you will enjoy excellent fishing throughout the season.
This lake is generally shallow and rocky -- average depth is around 15 feet with the deepest area being 50 feet. Since it is a shallow water body, summer water temperatures are warm, thus allowing good growth rates for baitfish and game fish alike. There is no question Kabinakagami Lake offers the sportsman a great deal of character with its miles of rocky shoreline, many islands and bays. It is truly one of Ontario's finest remote wilderness areas and we know you will enjoy it. Below is Rich Everson enjoying a day out on the lake.
